284992df3d patchutils: enable parallel building 
Parallel building was disabled in 91b63fa208 (patchutils: disable
parallel build, 2022-02-02) / #157264 because it caused tests to fail,
but (a) I don't see that behaviour after twenty rebuilds of all three
patchutils packages using 20 cores and (b) I'd expect the flag that
would have made a difference is `enableParallelChecking`.

63d29caff2 gawk: apply upstream patch for bug when building without gmp/mpfr 
when using gawk 5.4.1 without gmp and mpfr, some alignment is broken in
a NODE struct. this causes build failures in downstream packages such
as `libpng` and `gcc16`. a discussion of the latter occurred on
bug-gawk (https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-gawk/2026-07/msg00013.html)
where the issue was found and pushed to the relevant branch, but has not
been released. accordingly, we fetch (manually, since fetchpatch
infrecs) the patch from the savannah gitweb. this fixes `libpng` and
`gcc16`.

811bd13927 diffutils: move to by-name 
Also drop diffutils from the `inherit (prevStage)` overrides in
pkgs/stdenv/linux/default.nix. Once the package lives in pkgs/by-name,
that pin gives the top-level `diffutils` attribute a source location
even though it is defined via `_internalCallByNamePackageFile`, which
nixpkgs-vet rejects (NPV-102). Dropping the pin lets the by-name
auto-definition stand on its own, at the cost of no longer reusing the
bootstrap-stage build (a stdenv-class rebuild, hence staging).
