This ensures the filter is sent to the sync endpoint properly. Originally found this shortcoming of the refactored test in my personal package repository, this commit upstreams the fix. Continuwuity just ignores incorrect sync filters, so this just exists for completeness.
This is because [matrix-nio](https://github.com/matrix-nio/matrix-nio) is pretty dead, and does not seem to like the new continuwuity version with the new default v12 rooms.
Mautrix is actively maintained and a good fit for basic testing of the client-server connection on NixOS.
This is an attempt to make better assertions on federation and basic
functionality: so far we had a test that was essentially a
regression-test for email-based authentication.
This change adds the following things:
* uses matrix-federation-tester to verify that federation is set up
properly.
* uses matrix-commander (a CLI client) to test basic operations
(sending/receiving messages, invites).
* merge basic synapse test & worker test: one of the federating servers
uses postgresql and a single federation worker, the other one no
workers and sqlite.

It's absolutely not reasonable to have us maintain random homeserver
implementations and Matrix clients. I don't think anyone is actually
operating and focusing on >1 of these implementations, so restricting
ourselves to the core things & reference implementations makes more
sense to me.
After fixing the registration bug I determined that the module was way
too verbose and did not need to provide all of the options provided in
the application. I've stopped explicitly declaring all options that
aren't needed to make a basic version of the module function. The
assertions have also been updated to mirror this fact and will alert a
user when the specific required options are unset. A new documnetation
file was also added as this module, like other mautrix modules, is quite
complex and may need more explaining.
It makes zero sense to have it in this team. Dendrite is something
that's (hopefully) rarely deployed and noone from this team touched this
package since 2024-11.

Found by searching for a backslash followed by a newline, some
indentation, and then the end of multi-line string marker, using the
following extended regex:

The new out-of-box experience in continuwuity is such that you have to either
create a first (admin) user manually using `conduit --execute "users create
<name>"`, or using the temporary registration token that appears in the logs.
This needs to happen regardless of whether the server is open to registration
or if there is a pre-shared registration token. This commit makes it so that
the initial `alice` user is created in advance by the server itself. This
does not influence the quality of the nixos test in my opinion.
The option services.nginx.virtualHost.<...>.enableSSL is deprecated for
8 years [^1]. It causes confusion for people who guess the option and
think it's the right one.
I think it's time to remove it for good.

The `services.postfix.config` option is a freeform type that represents
settings in `main.cf`. The top-level options on the postfix module were
replaced by these and that is the reason behind this migration.
This avoids restarting the postgresql server, when only ensureDatabases
or ensureUsers have been changed. It will also allow to properly wait
for recovery to finish later.
To wait for "postgresql is ready" in other services, we now provide a
postgresql.target.

As the conduwuit project has been officially discontinued,
and the conduwuit NixOS module hasn't been around long enough
to appear in any stable NixOS release, we've removed it.
After final improvements to the official formatter implementation,
this commit now performs the first treewide reformat of Nix files using it.
This is part of the implementation of RFC 166.
Only "inactive" files are reformatted, meaning only files that
aren't being touched by any PR with activity in the past 2 months.
This is to avoid conflicts for PRs that might soon be merged.
Later we can do a full treewide reformat to get the rest,
which should not cause as many conflicts.
A CI check has already been running for some time to ensure that new and
already-formatted files are formatted, so the files being reformatted here
should also stay formatted.
