Fixing that is a can of worms:

* There's a patch for the original compiler error[1], however the source
  hashes in the source-tree must be updated manually since that's a
  one-line JSON and that part of the patch doesn't apply.

* Only to discover that there's subsequent breakage.

Given that this is EOL by the end of month[2], fixing that doesn't seem
like well-invested time to me.

Firefox 154 and ESR 153.1 load libavcodec.so.63, so they get ffmpeg_9.
ESR 140.10.2 and later load libavcodec.so.62, leaving nothing on
libavcodec 61, so ffmpeg_7 goes and ffmpeg_8 becomes the floor.

2452ba690c firefox/wrapper: add appDataDir argument 
This is immediately helpful on MacOS 27+ where access to default datadir
is now restricted to apps that are signed by Mozilla.

Moving datadir to a new location implies a completely new profile will
be created, unless users migrate their datadirs from the default
location to the new one. Nixpkgs derivation cannot execute this
migration for the users, nor it includes any tools to help with it. For
this reason, users on 27+ will have to explicitly opt-in their firefox
to use a new location, potentially also migrating their existing
datadir beforehand.

I expect Home Manager programs.firefox module to allow to set the
argument to:

${cfg.home.homeDirectory}/Library/Application Support/org.nixos.firefox

Other package consumers are advised to use the same directory for
portability reasons.
