374e6bcc40 treewide: Format all Nix files
Format all Nix files using the officially approved formatter,
making the CI check introduced in the previous commit succeed:

  nix-build ci -A fmt.check

This is the next step of the of the [implementation](https://github.com/NixOS/nixfmt/issues/153)
of the accepted [RFC 166](https://github.com/NixOS/rfcs/pull/166).

This commit will lead to merge conflicts for a number of PRs,
up to an estimated ~1100 (~33%) among the PRs with activity in the past 2
months, but that should be lower than what it would be without the previous
[partial treewide format](https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/322537).

Merge conflicts caused by this commit can now automatically be resolved while rebasing using the
[auto-rebase script](8616af08d9/maintainers/scripts/auto-rebase).

If you run into any problems regarding any of this, please reach out to the
[formatting team](https://nixos.org/community/teams/formatting/) by
pinging @NixOS/nix-formatting.

cf127c9dc3 treewide: load structured attributes in all bash builders consistently
It's hard to put the sourcing of ./.attrs.sh into all builder
consistently - mistakes will happen. Thus, load structured attrs once in
make-derivation and then source the remaining builder on top.

This should fix quite a few builders with structured attributes in
principle. Most importantly it helps substitute / substituteAll, which
are required for bootstrap on some platforms.

667d42c00d treewide: format all inactive Nix files
After final improvements to the official formatter implementation,
this commit now performs the first treewide reformat of Nix files using it.
This is part of the implementation of RFC 166.

Only "inactive" files are reformatted, meaning only files that
aren't being touched by any PR with activity in the past 2 months.
This is to avoid conflicts for PRs that might soon be merged.
Later we can do a full treewide reformat to get the rest,
which should not cause as many conflicts.

A CI check has already been running for some time to ensure that new and
already-formatted files are formatted, so the files being reformatted here
should also stay formatted.

This commit was automatically created and can be verified using

    nix-build a08b3a4d19.tar.gz \
      --argstr baseRev 57b193d8dd
    result/bin/apply-formatting $NIXPKGS_PATH

8bc5104a6e treewide: refactor .attrs.sh detection
When specifying the `builder` attribute in `stdenv.mkDerivation`, this
will be effectively transformed into

    builtins.derivation {
      builder = stdenv.shell;
      args = [ "-e" builder ];
    }

This also means that `default-builder.sh` is never sourced and as a
result it's not guaranteed that `$NIX_ATTRS_SH_FILE` is set to a correct
location[1].

Also, we need to source `.attrs.sh` to source `$stdenv`. So, the
following is done now:

* If `$NIX_ATTRS_SH_FILE` points to a correct location, then use it.
  Directly using `.attrs.sh` is problematic for `nix-shell(1)` usage
  (see previous commit for more context), so prefer the environment
  variable if possible.

* Otherwise, if `.attrs.sh` exists, then use it. See [1] for when this
  can happen.

* If neither applies, it can be assumed that `__structuredAttrs` is
  turned off and thus nothing needs to be done.

[1] It's possible that it doesn't exist at all - in case of Nix 2.3 or
    it can point to a wrong location on older Nix versions with a bug in
    `__structuredAttrs`.

6da6accd30 treewide: Remove uses of builtins.toPath.
toPath has confusing semantics and is never necessary; it can always
either just be omitted or replaced by pre-concatenating `/.`. It has
been marked as "!!! obsolete?" for more than 10 years in a C++
comment, hopefully removing it will let us properly deprecate and,
eventually, remove it.

25865688a7 docker: init fetchdocker nix code for docker2nix
This change adds granular, non-docker daemon docker image fetchers and
a docker image layer compositor to be used in conjunction with the
`docker2nix` utility provided by the `haskellPackages.hocker` package.

This change includes a hackage package version bump and updated sha256
for recent fixes released to `hocker` resulting from formulating this
patch.
