There are two issues:
The first problem is that there is an implicit definition of a function
which is by default an error with the compiler that is used on Darwin.
There is an upstream submitted patch
(https://puszcza.gnu.org.ua/bugs/?256) to fix this issue, but its from
2015 and thus doesn't seem likely to be applied anytime soon. Since its
just a comment, we can't retrieve it with fetchpatch or similar. The
patch is very simple and so we can vendor it here.
The second problem is that the 5.5 release of direvent uses
clock_nanosleep which is only available on Linux. There is an upstream
fix for that issue which is in git but not a released version - so, we
can pick that up. Unfortunately, it appears that we have to vendor this
patch since attempts to use fetchpatch to get it from the source
(https://git.gnu.org.ua/direvent.git/patch/?id=f6042ca2e240a27a20e405de49755f350ca95e7b)
failed due to bot protection functionality on that site.
Changes in 5.5 (2026-06-05): all subprocesses are now terminated before
exit, and a new "shutdown-timeout" configuration statement was added.

After final improvements to the official formatter implementation,
this commit now performs the first treewide reformat of Nix files using it.
This is part of the implementation of RFC 166.
Only "inactive" files are reformatted, meaning only files that
aren't being touched by any PR with activity in the past 2 months.
This is to avoid conflicts for PRs that might soon be merged.
Later we can do a full treewide reformat to get the rest,
which should not cause as many conflicts.
A CI check has already been running for some time to ensure that new and
already-formatted files are formatted, so the files being reformatted here
should also stay formatted.

We are migrating packages that meet below requirements:
1. using `callPackage`
2. called path is a directory
3. overriding set is empty (`{ }`)
4. not containing path expressions other than relative path (to
makenixpkgs-vet happy)
5. not referenced by nix files outside of the directory, other
than`pkgs/top-level/all-packages.nix`
6. not referencing nix files outside of the directory
7. not referencing `default.nix` (since it's changed to `package.nix`)
8. `outPath` doesn't change after migration
