The project moved from safishamsi/graphify to Graphify-Labs/graphify;
repoint src and homepage at the new location.
0.9.x adds numpy and rapidfuzz as runtime dependencies, and four more
tree-sitter grammars (bash, fortran, groovy, json). Four of the grammar
bindings need pythonRelaxDeps because python3Packages.tree-sitter-grammars
tracks the grammar repositories, whose versions drift from the pins
declared upstream.
The pdf extra swapped html2text for markdownify; anthropic, bedrock,
chinese, openai and postgres extras are new and all resolvable in nixpkgs.
falkordb has no nixpkgs package, so that extra is left out.
Set dontCheckPythonMetadata: the attribute and the command are `graphify`,
but upstream publishes the distribution as `graphifyy`, and
pythonMetadataCheckPhase resolves the distribution by `pname`. The plain
build does not run that phase, but any consumer does, e.g.
nix-build -E 'with import ./. {};
python3.withPackages (_: [ (python3.pkgs.toPythonModule graphify) ])'
=> PackageNotFoundError: No package metadata was found for graphify

libglade was archived upstream after having last been touched in January
2010. it also depends on the deprecated GTK2 engine, which is being
removed from Nixpkgs.
libgnomecanvas has been archived upstram as it was last touched in April
2012. It also depends on the deprecated GTK2 engine, which is being
removed from Nixpkgs.
libIDL is part of the deprecated GNOME 2 desktop, which is being removed
from Nixpkgs. It was archived upstream after having been last touched
July 2014.
GConf has long been replaced by GSettings and dconf, and was last
touched upstream in October 2015. It also depends on old software
versions such as Python 3.12, and holds back the removal of several
GTK2-dependent packages which are being removed.
the comment above indicates that this is only useful for Electron 3.0.0.
that is very old, and since GConf is being removed from Nixpkgs, there
seems little reason to keep this around.
jwm-settings-manager is unmaintained upstream (last commit was 2019). it
is also hosted on the bazarr codehosting service on launchpad which is
going to be taken down, and the maintainer in Nixpkgs recommended it be
dropped at https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/544888#issuecomment-5131388691.
gtksourceview does seem to be used upstream, but this is the gnome 2
version which is being removed from Nixpkgs. the package still builds
without it, and it seems like some components should be unaffected.
foxtrotgps has a hard dependency on libglade, which has been untouched
upstream since January 2010 and is being removed from Nixpkgs. its last
dedicated maintenance in Nixpkgs other than compiler upgrade fixes and
treewides seems to have been in 2021, so this is probably okay to drop.
ocamlgraph_gtk has a hard dependency on libgnomecanvas via lablgtk.
libgnomecanvas is being removed from Nixpkgs. however, all users in-tree
just use `ocamlPackages.ocamlgraph`, so we drop
`ocamlPackages.ocamlgraph_gtk` entirely.
both of this libraries are part of the long-deprecated GNOME 2 desktop
and being removed from Nixpkgs. since they are optional dependencies for
lablgtk, we remove them from here as well.
seq24 has not been touched upstream for over a decade (since February
2016). it also depends on GTK 2, which is long deprecated and being
removed from Nixpkgs. additionally, it is hosted on the Bazaar service
at Launchpad, which is going away. all things considered, it seems very
unlikely that this situation will change, so we drop it.
