this package appears to have a hard dependency on libappindicator-gtk2, which is being removed from Nixpkgs for its gtk 2 dependency. replacing it with libappindicator-gtk3 and libayatana-appindicator both fail to configure. pidgin 2 is on the chopping block for its hard requirement on gtk 2 anyway, so this is likely not too big a deal.
